Quincy Community Action Programs, Inc. (QCAP) is the leading private nonprofit organization in the Greater Quincy area dedicated to reducing poverty and helping low-income individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency. Since 1965, QCAP has provided essential services to low-income residents in Quincy and surrounding Norfolk County, Metro Boston, and South Shore communities. QCAP serves more than 21,000 unduplicated people each year through the following services: food assistance, homelessness prevention counseling and emergency housing assistance, mortgage foreclosure counseling, first time homebuyer seminars, heating assistance, energy conservation, financial literacy education and budget counseling, free tax preparation, adult education, family engagement activities, child care financial assistance, and Head Start early education and care for children.
