Fund A Need 2018: STEM Labs

Help fund the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Labs at Encinal, Laurel, Oak Knoll and Hillview!

Everyone of our school campuses offers dedicated STEM space for students to drem and pratice with hands-on materials that encourage exploration in STEM areas, which leads to increased critical thinking and soft skills like creativity and collaboration.  Providing a wide range of materials to work with builds children's foundational knowledge of design and they learn that structure and functionm influences performance.

Whatever your level of giving, your donation will provide the materials needed to keep our STEM labs full of the resources they need to keep our children's minds and hands busy innovating for the future.   Thank you!

Your gift represents the amount of money the school district will spend on key components of this effort.

$5000 funds:   One complete "pro-library" set of magnet circuit kits that are perfect for blending math, science, and art as students collaborate and allow learning to be truly open ended.

$3,500 funds:  A full class set of robots with accessories for students to learn with together!  Example:  DASH and DOT Tech Center Pack.

$2,000 funds:  One teacher attending the National Science Teachers Association or National Council on Math Teachers Association Conference.   This opportunity would allow a teacher to learn the best advances in math/science education and pathways to help close the acheivement gap.  This funding would fund one teacher, airfare, registration and hotel.

$1,000 funds:  Supplies for a LEGO Wall for one STEM Lab.  LEGO Walls allow students to explore 3-D construction on a vertical surface, design thinking and creativity - all while encouraging collaboration in shared spaces and across grade bands.

$500 funds:  One class toolkit specifically geared towards teaching engineering scientific phenomena, the scientific process and solving real world problems.  Example kits: K'Nex and Engineering is Elementary.

$250 funds:  One class toolkit specifically geared towards teaching 3-D construction, visualization, geometry, robotics and basic coding.  Example kits:  Makeado Cardboard Construction or DOT and DASH Robot.

$100 funds:  One fully stocked consumable supply bin of essential supplies for the STEM Lab including glue sticks, batteries, playdough, LED lights, copper foil tape and more!
