Author Katherine Kinzler, Professor of Psychology at the University of Chicago, will discuss her much lauded new book, How You Say It: Why We Judge Others by the Way They Talk and the Costs of This Hidden Bias. 

How do language, accent and dialect influence our identities, perceptions and behavior towards others?  Why is linguistic discrimination often overlooked?   In what ways can exposure to multiple languages help children transcend prejudices and bridge cultural divisions in our society?  Come to learn the answers to these questions and to reaffirm your ongoing support for the Hurley School.  In the words of Professor Kinzler, language can divide us, but it can also bring us together.
