Donate An Item
Donating items to our auction catalog is a great way to support API. We appreciate any items you donate as well as any items you round up and submit on behalf of other donors.
We encourage you to submit your donation form and mail in your donated items by Septemeber 15 to take advantage of our auction promotions prior to bidding on October 1. Items received but not processed and any items received after October 17 will be held for future auctions.
To submit an item donation to the API auction:
- Photograph your item attractively, yet accurately so that bidders have a good idea of what's on offer. We'll accept up to 4 photos per item.
- Write an item item description that's complete, accurate, yet interesting. See the mechandising tips below.
- Click "Sign in to donate" button below
- Complete the online donation form using your photos and description from above.
- Submit your online donation form. You will receive an email confirmation.
- Print the emailed donation confirmation and include it with the mailed item for faster processing.
- Securely package and mail* your item (including your donation confirmation above) to "Full of Love" PO Box 2125
Acworth, GA 30102 (FedEx and UPS deliveries: 7026 Yacht Club Drive
Acworth, GA 30102) We recommend using tracking, delivery confirmation and insurance for special items.
- Tell your family and friends to check out the auction! Bidding starts October 1!
*if your donated item is not "mailable," please forward your donation confirmation to auction@attachmentparenting.org with the subject line of "Virtual auction item only."
When will my donated item appear in the online auction catalog?
Please allow at least a week, maybe longer -- here's why:
- We have the online donation form, but not the matching item. Make sure you completed the online donation form above AND mailed the item -- we'll only list an item in the catalog once we've received it, checked it and matched it to our online donation forms. If you've done all that, consider a mail delay. Keep in mind that holidays can delay the mail. Assuming timely mail, it's possible that high donation volumes, volunteer hours or vacations have lengthened our processing time.
- We've received your item, but not the matching online donation form. Make sure you've submitted an online donation form per the instructions above. If you did and you have confirmation that we've received your item, please allow for processing time that might be lengthened from high donation volumes, volunteer hours or vacations.
- None of the above. If you have confirmation that we received the item and your online donation form, it's been awhile and your item is not included in the auction, contact us at auction@attachmentparenting.org.
Merchandising Tips to help attract bidders to your item:
- Write your description from the perspective of the bidder -- what's the essence of this item? What makes it special?
- The description of an auction item should stir up excitement about the auction item.
- Write the first sentence to attract and motivate your bidders.
- Use titles and descriptions that are clean, clear and concise.
- Write “eye catching” titles using keywords describing the item, or simply state the name of the item.
- Include in the title the brand name, artist or creator of the item if you think it will help attract bidders.
- Include enough details about the auction item so that auction participants are able to make an informed decision when choosing to buy the item.
- Be careful of names that embellish excessively so that what the item is becomes unclear.
- If an auction item has too many details to share with your auction community, consider inserting a link to the manufacturer’s (creator’s, artist’s) website as part of the auction item’s description.
API reserves the right to determine the most appropriate use of any donated items.
Thank you for your donation and don't forget to tell everyone you know! Bidding starts October 1!
