30"x22" unframed photograph

"On my very first trip to Ghana, following the performance of some rituals one of the women elders became
"possessed." I asked if I could shoot photographs of herand was told that I was welcome
to but that they would probably not come out.  When I returned the US and developed the film, I was amazed to find many
layers of multiple images on top of the photographs of the woman I treasure this roll of film, which
has never been shown before.  The film has not been cut as the images run in
between the spaces as well.”

Cary Sullivan's exhibit "Soul Adventurer" is on exhibit at the Dan Eldon Gallery thru January 7, 2013.
