Description
This unique collectible was cut from the hull of the HMCS Yukon before she was sunk as an artificial reef in the San Diego Underwater Recreational Area. This is the 2nd of two dolphins cut from the hull by the late Milt Beard. Milt was the person responsible for cutting all the diver safety holes on the vessel and cut only two dolphin-shaped holes in the Yukon's bow. The dolphin was originally purchased at auction in 2000 prior to the Yukon reefing by DJ Rausa, who recently donated it back to CSTR. The piece is 11' long by 4' high and weighs 250 lbs. The world-renowned artist, Wyland hand painted & signed the piece, as he did the first which was sold at auction in 2010, but the design is totally unique from the first.
This is a one-of-a-kind collectible.
Item Special Note
The dolphin must be picked up in San Diego and shipped at the winning bidder's expense.
