Help a child help homeless animals this summer! Sponsor a summer camp scholarship. A "Buy Now" purchase of $25 goes to the scholarship fund to help send children to our weekly summer camps in 2017.
Full and partial scholarships are provided to prospective campers with financial, emotional or extenuating circumstances. The HSSA believes that every child should have the opportunity to discover their passion for animals, explore the human animal bond and have the opportunity to share a fun, exciting and educational summer camp experience with other young animal lovers.
With financial assistance, hundreds of children have benefited from the HSSA’s summer programs which promote kindness, compassion and empathy building, life skills, juvenile anti-cruelty prevention, responsible pet ownership lessons, health and wellness and the benefits of the human animal bond.
Scholarships are awarded through an application process. Once prospective families have turned in their application along with the required paperwork, the HSSA will determine eligibility and notify families of their status. In order to stretch our resources as far as possible, we only offer 100% scholarships to families who provide proof of government assistance or for children receiving medical or mental health services. All other requests that qualify receive partial assistance. Typically, we will work with families to determine what portion of the fees can be paid without undue hardship.
