In the inaugural round following this golf courses opening ceremony in 1987, Tom Watson shot a 67 - which still stands as the official course record. Watson came off the course declaring, Its so much like Scotland, you can almost hear the bagpipes playing. A tradition was born, and today you can hear the bagpipes play each evening as a piper closes the course shortly before sunset. Hyatt Regency Monterey Enjoy a 3-night stay in a standard guest room at this destination resort located two miles east of the beach nestled in 22 acres of soaring Monterey Pines and adjacent to the renowned Pebble Beach Companys Del Monte Golf Course. Relax by the fire pit or at the lounge and enjoy two outdoor pools, tennis courts, bike rentals, jogging/walking trails, and fitness center. (Fee required for some activities.) This hotel provides the quintessential Monterey experience. Its Central California coast location offers guest close proximity to downtown Monterey and easy access to some of the Peninsulas most well-known attractions, including Carmel, Lovers Point Beach in Pacific Grove, Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Airfare This package includes round-trip coach class service for two from any major metropolitan airport in the 48 contiguous United States to San Francisco or San Jose, CA, subject to availability. Airfare must be booked within one year from the date of purchase. Airfare taxes and a $25 per person processing fee are the responsibility of the purchaser. Blackout dates: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years weeks. Business and First Class upgrades are available at the time of booking for an additional fee.
