LAVA SEA and the "Volcanic Series"
"Volcanoes have fascinated me since I was a little girl - visits to the Vesuvio, Stromboli, Lipari islands when I was 6 years old - and a film by the famous French volcanologist Haroun Tazzieff, when I was a teenager.
The majestic cones and calderas, the flows of lava, and spectacular eruptions played on my imagination, and early on when I started painting, I played with textures to create an atmosphere of wonder."
Sandra Menant is a full time professional artist, who is working from her studio in London. Through the use of vibrant colours and contrasting textures, she is able to convey emotions and produces highly decorative canvases. Plants and landscapes, especially in tropical settings trigger her imagination and her creativity .
