Artist Inspiration:

This design was inspired by an Egyptian sculpture Brynn saw at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC in the late 1980’s. It is a small statuette of a hippopotamus called “William” and decorated in patterns of marsh plants under a blue-green glaze. Patterns based in nature have also resonated with Brynn and she wanted to incorporate them into this piece. For “Garden Queen” she wanted to have her camouflaged in leaves, but also decorated in gold (as all cats should be).
