Artist Inspiration:
Jamie was recently commissioned to paint the Cat Care Society shelter mascot kitty Sue Sioux. One of the two featured photos for this piece is of Sue Sioux, the "real cat" and her painted cat. Please note the beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail by Jamie. The Sue Sioux Painted cat is a stunning piece and looks exactly like the "real cat" Sue Sioux.
The concept behind the Naked Cat is the winning bidder will be able to customize the cat to represent their very own cat. Picture your cat here!
Artist Bio:
Jamie McWhirt is an artist who specializes in pet portraits using acrylic paint. She has been painting since high school and over the years she has developed her own realistic style and focuses on the details that will bring her paintings and commissioned pet portraits to life. Jamie is a third generation Colorado native, and loves everything about this beautiful state. “It is a great place to live and I spend a lot of time outdoors with my husband, hiking, snowboarding, and walking my two Great Danes.”
In 2015, Cat Care Society commissioned Jamie to paint Sue Sioux, the shelter mascot on a large fiberglass form. This sculpture has traveled to many events and has delighted CCS supporters and visitors alike. Jamie’s design for 2017 will be custom painted for the highest bidder who wishes to have a re-creation of their very own special cat.

Online Bidding:
We are offering online bidding for the Painted Cats, Flat Cats, Clay Cats and the Paper Cats from May 13th through September 13th. Online bidding will close on September 13th.
Bidding will resume at the Tails of the Painted Cats Gala Dinner & Auction on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Pinehurst Country Club from 5-8pm.
Please note: If you are unable to attend the Gala Dinner be sure to set your maximum bid online by September 13th and we will serve as your proxy bidder during the event.
Winning bidders are responsible for all shipping costs.
The Painted Cat will be shipped through UPS. Delivery signature and insurance will be required. The cost for insurance will be based on the winning bid amount.

All cats will be available for pick up at the Gala Dinner & Auction on September 16, 2017. This cat will ship once the artist has completed the painting of the winning bidders cat.
