Description
Mini-Cat
# 25 Harlequin
Size: 18” Height and 17” Width
H = from base to tip of tail
W = from right foot to tip of tail
Artist: Patti Henschen
Sponsor: Anastasia Betterton-Fike
Artist Inspiration:
Patti read the harlequin story when she was a kid and thought that his light-hearted yet trickster character resembled a cat. Cats are truly an entertaining and finicky species.
Artist Bio:
Patti was born and raised in South Texas and went to school to become a Civil Engineer. She moved to Colorado Springs for a construction job in 2008 and liked it so much she stayed after the job finished. Her fate was also determined by the fact that she met her husband, Nate, on the construction site.
“Growing up, I always loved art and music but never formally took classes...everything related to art I learned from watching art classes on PBS and studying others’ art work at galleries.” In college, she finally took an art appreciation class, impressing her instructor with all she had learned.
Patti’s work has mainly been focused on pencil/charcoal drawing, watercolors, and acrylic. “Nate and I don't have any kids yet, but we do have two boxers, Bebe and Cleo (I know...they're not cats)”. She is excited for the opportunity to take part in this year’s Tails of the Painted Cats and hopes her entry,” Harlequin” will delight everyone.
