Artist Inspiration:
Trees inspired Luis’ design. Every season the trees change size, color, shape and movement when the wind is present. But with a little imagination, he can see and make hidden images somewhat appear (or at least imagine it!)
Artist Bio:
Luis Contreras was born in El Paso, Texas and relocated to Colorado because of a mural opportunity. In his many years of experience in the arts, Luis has been involved in mural and canvas painting, painted signage, contemporary graffiti and up-cycled art. Acrylics and various spray paints are the preferred mediums for his creativity. Many of Luis's art pieces have been exhibited and sometimes donated in locations in the Southwest region. Luis's inspiration for animals comes from his girlfriend, Melissa who is Native American and has nurtured in him a great respect and love for buffalo, eagles and other wildlife.
Luis enjoys donating his art to worthy causes. An example of this effort can be found at the Clinica Campesina, to which he gave his work as a thank you for providing him with health care in his time of need. His generous spirit has inspired him to participate in the Tails of the Painted Cats project this year with his entry “Black Cat Hide & Seek.” Luis currently resides in Westminster, CO.

Online Bidding:
We are offering online bidding for the Painted Cats, Flat Cats, Clay Cats and the Paper Cats from May 13th through September 13th. Online bidding will close on September 13th.
Bidding will resume at the Tails of the Painted Cats Gala Dinner & Auction on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Pinehurst Country Club from 5-8pm.
Please note: If you are unable to attend the Gala Dinner be sure to set your maximum bid online by September 13th and we will serve as your proxy bidder during the event.
All cats will be available for pick up at the Gala Dinner & Auction on September 16, 2017. This painted cat cannot be shipped and is available for pick up only.
