Description

Be a Guest DJ with for One Hour with Ruby on Ruby's Roadhouse.

You and Ruby will agree on an hour on a particular Saturday between noon and 2:00 p.m. that works for you to come down to the KXCI Studios, 220 S. 4th Avenue in Tucson in Armory Park- or maybe even our brand new studio in Hotel Congress.

You'll be able to select 8 of your favorite songs ahead of time and tell our listeners why they are important to you. You'll also be able to tell us a little about you, the music you have selected and why it’s important to you. People anywhere in the world will be able to listen to your show at www.kxci.org and locally at 91.3 KXCI Tucson. We can also make you a copy of your show.

Ruby's Roadhouse is a weekly showcase of the best in Americana music, old and new. Regional roots, acoustic and country blues, and swinging honkytonk -- from the back porch to the barroom to the bayou and back home to the barrio!

Ruby says,"I believe music serves many purposes, but two of the most important are: to provide great, original entertainment, and to give voice to the universal quest for meaning and purpose in life. Everyone has a voice and a story to tell, and the Roadhouse shares these with respect for all. I believe that life is too short to take ourselves too seriously, so I also enjoy finding humor within the stories and themes that are explored on this program.

After years of working in the restaurant and music businesses, I made the move to social services, which is where I spent the last 20 years of my employment. My musical choices, in some ways, reflect the path of my own life. What a long, strange (and beautiful) trip it's been! When not listening to music, I love being outdoors in this splendid Sonoran desert."
