Description

Four nights at Highlights Foundation in historic Honesdale, PA, 30 miles north of Scranton, in the Pocono Mountains - subject to availability, or a $500 gift certificate good for any available workshops (assuming recipient qualifies if there is an application process). Cabins and lodge rooms have modern facilities and are writer-ready with desk, chair, and filled bookshelves.

We believe that all writers and artists can benefit from the gift of time. Time to think. Time to imagine. Time to create. Oh, and time away ? from duties & distractions.

?Let?s have people come and just write,? we decided. ?We?ll call it the Unworkshop.? We?ve set aside some weeks that might work for you, but if you have a different date in mind, contact Jo Lloyd to see if that will work. (Email Jo or call toll-free, 1-877-288-3410).

Our campus consists of the Founders? farmhouse, twenty-one cabins, a lodge, and a 5,200-square-foot conference center known as The Barn at Boyds Mills, 10 miles from Honesdale, PA.

Item Special Note

Once you?re here, we will:

  • Give you a comfortable, private place to stay, with a writing table and other amenities, including a refrigerator, hot beverage center, and round-the-clock snacks.
  • Provide you with three great meals a day, where you can eat and socialize as you wish with like-minded people (or take the food back to your room on a tray if you are in the middle of a landslide of writing inspiration).
  • Have a couple extra computers and printers available for your use.
  • Show you where to find our walking trails, in case you need a break. We also offer yoga some mornings.
  • Respect the sanctity of your writing space.

Come for any number of days that fit your needs. Stay for a day or a week, as long as you need to write. See what works for you.

Our Unworkshop program has been growing in popularity. We?ve been gratified to see that so many small groups have come here (friends, critique groups, writing partners) as well as individuals, including some of our faculty members.
