From a choral repertoire spanning five centuries, Musica Sacra performs works both familiar and rare, with a crisp passion that awakens the listener to yearnings and joys, sorrows and delights—all that defines and inspires the best in human lives. Their 2017-2018 season finale on Saturday, May 12 at 8pm at First Church Congregational in Cambridge features music representing the soft air of springtime with its new greening, delicate fragrances, and sense of unlimited hope, including Lauridsen’s Les Chansons des Roses; Britten’s Choral dances from “Gloriana;” and works by Barber, Rautavaara, Gjeilo, Antognini, and others.
