Blending at Mending Wall

--Blending session with Winemaker Thomas R. Brown and Assistant Winemaker Tim Beranek for 6 guests

--Wines for blending from the 2016 vintage of Rivers Marie production

--Lunch to follow featuring the cuisine of Executive Chef John Coss

Most people think of walls as separating properties. That is the lovely paradox behind Robert Frost?s famous poem, The Mending Wall, which relates the story of neighbors who come together because of a mutual wall.  Just as Frost?s poem explores collaboration and adhering to a single vision, so too are those concepts part of the Mending Wall Winery philosophy.

Mending Wall Winery is a casually elegant venue that celebrates wine as a unifying force, a special bonding elixir that brings together friends and family, provoking good feelings and laughter.

Your blending session can be competitive or collaborative to suit the needs of your group of 6: A collaborative session takes you through the same steps winemakers follow to create their final blends. This is a unique way to learn about wine from the perspective of celebrated winemaker Thomas R. Brown and assistant winemaker Tim Beranek.

Competitive sessions will break your group into teams. Once familiar with the wines, each team will experiment to come up with their own blend, which will be judged on aroma and taste.

Regardless of the route you choose, your session will bring you and good friends together for an excellent day.

Afterwards, toast your experience with lunch in the beautiful Mending Wall salon, prepared by John Coss, estate chef, who has been creating memorable dining experiences in the Napa Valley for 30 years.  Enjoy the rest of your afternoon in the Mending Wall tasting room, with more wines from the bounty of Rivers Marie.

Your most excellent day is now complete.
