Kaufman Music Center will present longtime Executive Director Lydia Kontos with the Lifetime Achievement Award at our 2018 Gala.
Lydia will be recognized for her distinguished career at Kaufman Music Center, which has spanned nearly 40 years, on the occasion of her retirement (planned for fall 2018).
The Gala will feature performances by outstanding guest artists, including: living legends of the flute, Sir James Galway and Lady Jeanne Galway, both renowned for gracing stages throughout the world with eloquence and virtuosity; and acclaimed soprano Ailyn Pérez, hailed by the New York Times as a performer who ?commands the stage? and ?a major soprano." Featuring cocktails, a seated dinner, and live music, this will be an unforgettable celebration of what makes Kaufman Music Center so special!
This celebration supports KMC's Fund for Music Education, which underwrites the extensive music curriculum at Special Music School, a K-12 public school for musically gifted children; provides scholarships to underprivileged students at Lucy Moses School; and creates opportunities for children in New York City?s neediest schools to enjoy musical theater performances. Each year, Kaufman Music Center invests over $2 million in these important programs.

NOTE: All sales are final. All items are for pick-up only at the Special Music School, 129 West 67th Street. Pick-up dates, within three weeks of the auction closing, will be announced at the end of the auction. Under certain circumstances, we may, at our discretion, agree to ship items (via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate ONLY), but will charge the shipping fee to the winning bidder.
