Opening in mid-summer 2018, the the new Pittsburgh Playhouse was envisioned to create a state-of-the-art learning center where students could merge energy, talent and ambition in a central local. It is a 92,000-square-foot structure located on approximately 1.6 acres of land along the Forbes Avenue corridor between Wood and Smithfield streets. The Pittsburgh Playhouse is the performing arts center of Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts. The three-theater center is home to The REP, a professional company, and three student companies ? Conservatory Theatre Company, Conservatory Dance Company and Playhouse Jr. The Pittsburgh Playhouse maintains a rigorous performance calendar with 18 major productions and 235 performances, entertaining more than 30,000 patrons annually.
