Description

A Lifetime Adoption of Arta, a whale shark

Arta was initally photographed and cataloged in Djibouti, Africa, by Dr. Jennifer Schmidt earlier this year.

Dr. Schmidt will be returning to Djibouti in December 2018, and hopefully, Arta will be resighted then.

This is a Lifetime Adoption, no annual renewal is needed. Arta's guardian will be notified whenever Arta is resighted.

Item Special Note

The objective of this auction is to spotlight individuals and organizations working effectively for ocean conservation, and raise funds for field research, education and conservation projects.

The Shark Research Institute began tagging and cataloging whale sharks in 1993 and some of them are available for adoption.

We hope that Arta will be seen again (whale sharks are wild animals and follow their own paths through the ocean). When and if Arta is spotted again, the guardian will be notified of the date and location where Arta was seen.

The winning bid is deductible from US Federal 2018 income taxes as a Charitable Donation. A tax receipt will be issued to the winning bidder.
