Wine and cheese pairing for 12 at your home with Kent Torrey of The Cheese Shop

Kent Torrey, President & CEO (Cheese Eating Oenophile) of The Cheese Shop will present an intimate, in-home personal cheese and wine tasting for the winner of this auction item and up to 11 of their family and friends.

From January 2019 through October of 2019, Kent will fly to the winner?s state on a mutually accepted date, come to their home three hours prior to the tasting to prep and set up the six wines and cheeses.  

Kent has been in the professional Food & Wine business for 34 years. He has been fortunate enough to work with many famous Chefs (like HFWF?s own Alan Wong & Roy Yamaguchi), Master Sommeliers (HFWF?s own Richard Betts, Joseph Spellman, & Roberto Viernes) along with winemakers from around the world all while performing on some of the biggest festival stages nationwide. And now Kent?s offering to bring this exciting world of flavors to you personally!!

Kent will be bringing 2 bottles each (or a magnum) of these six (6) renown wines:

1. 2008 Ca? del Bosco Cuvée Annamaria Franciacorta (sparkling) Italy
   • This is the reserve sparkling wine from famed Franciacorta (tiny area of northern Italy) producer Maurizio Zanella and named for his mother.  
2. 2017 Chateau Vieux Taillefer IGT (St. Emilion) Blanc France, en magnum
   • A truly rare white wine from the St. Emilion appellation in Bordeaux France, and even more rare in a magnum format (only 25 made for the world)!
3. 2016 Kosta Browne Chardonnay One Sixteen Russian River Valley, Sonoma.
   • Known for their delicious and highly allocated Pinots, comes a special treat with this dynamic Chardonnay.
4. 2015 Lingua Franca Pinot Noir ?Ryan?s Plow? Willamette, Oregon
   • Inaugural release from Master Sommelier Larry Stone, and Burgundy producer Dominique Lafon in Eola-Amity Hills, Oregon.
5. 2016 A.A. Badenhorst Cinsault ?Ramnasgras? Paardeberg, Swartland South Africa
   • Fames South African winemaker, Adi Badenhorst, takes the classic Rhone varietal Cinsault to new heights. Only 50 cases made for the world, we bought 20%!
6. 2009 Ackerman Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa, en magnum
   • Small artisanal producer from Coombsville, Napa, presenting their 7th vintage, small production (500 cases), in magnum format.

Kent will take the winner and guests on a sensory tour around the world by selecting two cheeses, one ?classic? and one ?unique? to pair with each of the 6 wines. You?ll explore the ?who, what, where? about the cheeses and wines, and of course the ?why? these two delectable products seemingly always pair well together! Kent will also provide the guests with copies of tasting notes on both the cheeses and wines.
