A native of Japan, Sachiko began studying yoga at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of NY in 2001. Since then, she has experienced the transformative and healing power of this method first hand. As a teacher, she strives to inspire students to use yoga as a tool for self-discovery on and beyond the physical level.
Sachiko?s teachers in New York included Brooke Myers, David Yearwood, Kevin Gardiner, Bobby Clennell and Mary Dunn. After moving to SF in 2007, she started to study with Manouso Manos, whose classes she takes and assists weekly. Sachiko also regularly studies with Brian Hogencamp, and has twice been to Pune, India, to study with the Iyengars. She is a graduate of a three-year Iyengar Yoga teacher training program taught by Gloria Goldberg and currently holds an Intermediate Jr. 1 certification. She recently completed a 3-year Iyengar Yoga Therapeutics Program and continues to deepen her knowledge and skills especially in this area.
