We are proud to say that Little Choc Apothecary is the first fully vegan and gluten-free crêperie in NYC. We offer a creative selection of sweet and savory crepes, as well as homemade baked goods. Our products are completely plant-based, made from scratch, and are free of any chemical binders, gums, artificial flavors, and overly processed sugars and flours. We source our ingredients from farms and distributors who focus on sustainability, and providing local, organic, and fair trade products whenever possible.
Our liquid menu includes biodynamic wine and beer, freshly pressed juices, Toby?s Estate coffee and espresso drinks, as well as an apothecary-like selection of house blended teas. With over 100 different herb varieties, our guests can request off menu, personalized tea blends based on their health benefits, or taste preferences. Any individual herb or tea blend is available to take home by the ounce.
A word from the owner
It?s hard out there for a girl with a sweet tooth; especially one whose career depends on staying in shape. Throughout my 10-year career as a fashion model, I had to find a way to adjust my diet to maintain a healthy, deprivation-free lifestyle. This meant having my cake, and staying skinny too, so my quest for the perfect food began.
One documentary led to another, and I soon became vegan. Healthy eating became my obsession. I read every book and nutrition article I could get my hands on, completed the Plant Based Nutrition certificate program at eCornell, and took every dessert making class at the Natural Gourmet Institute in NYC.
During the course of my learning, superficial reasons took the backburner, and what started as a personal journey, became a greater cause. Animal welfare, agricultural sustainability, and our Nation?s health crisis became top priorities in my life, and in creating Little Choc Apothecary I sought to address them all.
My goal is to make healthy, cruelty-free food delicious, and more readily available to an ever-growing community of conscious eaters, and anything-goes foodies alike.
