Description

This Lauhala Fedora for kids was hand-woven by Mariko Kobayashi, the grandmother of MCS student Momo Kobayashi. Lauhala weaving is a Hawaiian tradition that has been passed down by generations where they weave hats from the leaves of pandanus trees. Mariko was taught by Aunty Gladys Kukana Grace, a lauhala weaver, whose work has been displayed at the Smithsonian and the Bishop Museum in Honolulu. The hat size is 21".
