The Fonte dè Medici Cooking School is the result of a professional partnership between the Agriturismo (Farmhouse) Fonte dè Medici and the Michelin starred restaurant Osteria di Passignano. Under the guidance of Fonte dè Medici?s chef, your basic cooking course will focus on revealing secrets of the Tuscan culinary arts, from traditional dishes to sophisticated preparations with the talented chef from Osteria di Passignano. The chefs share amusing stories and legends about local products and producers while you learn to recognize and savor flavors and aromas typical of the area. Your cooking lesson will be followed by dinner combined with Antinori wines at the Osteria di Passignano where you will also visit the vast thousand-year old cellars that run beneath the Badia a Passignano, an ancient abbey still owned by monks of the Vallombrosan Order, where Chianti Classico Riserva D.O.C.G. is aged. The cellars are the Antinori family?s homage to the territory of Chianti Classico, a confirmation of the historic ties to the family?s place of origin. This unique Italian cellar was designed with local materials and with the maximum respect for the environment and of the Tuscan landscape. The cellars, therefore, were constructed for reasons strictly tied to the production of wine but also to give a vast public of wine lovers the opportunity to enter into direct contact with the production philosophy of the family, and offering the opportunity to see how a wine is born, from the vineyard to the bottle, and the phases of fermentation and aging.
