The Danforth Art Museum and School was established in 1975 by a group of community members who were committed to bringing the arts to Framingham through exhibitions, museum programs, and studio art classes. In 2018, the Danforth merged with Framingham State University. The Museum's permanent Collection contains over 3,500 objects and focuses on American art from the early 19th century to the present day. Changing exhibitions feature both historic works and emphasize the Museum's commitment to contemporary, regional artists in all media.
Museum hours are Tuesday - Friday 10am - 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 12pm - 5pm.
