The Captain?s House is a gorgeous 1,650 square foot historic post and beam gambrel that can comfortably sleep 7-8 people, featuring 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The first floor has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and one with two twins. A full bathroom/laundry room is located on the first floor. The second floor has a queen size bed in the master suite with an adjoining full bath and walk-in shower. There is also a private lounge area with a full-size sleeper sofa that is adjacent to the master bedroom. A roomy and private cedar outdoor shower is located in the rear of the house. A patio and large Weber gas grill are available for your outdoor enjoyment.
The interior of the Captain?s House is designed and decorated with a nautical theme complementing the unique post and beam style of this home. The interior roof structure is designed in a style reminiscent of the hull of a ship with ships knees and supporting brackets that are indicative of the architects and builder?s maritime expertise. The stairs to the second floor are rather steep and similar to what you would find on a traditional wooden ship as you head to the galley and sleeping quarters. There is even a porthole in the master bedroom which looks down into the living room area on the first floor. The Eliphamets Landing and Mill Pond are visible from the property. The Captain?s House is within walking distance to the Chatham Lighthouse, Coast Guard Station, Lighthouse Beach and Chatham?s Main Street district with its many charming shops and restaurants.
