John Pizzarelli makes his yearly return to the Mahaiwe for a rare evening of big band music, featuring a 16 piece big band playing arrangements from Mr. Pizzarelli’s one of a kind band book. With charts from arrangers Don Sebesky, John Clayton, Torrie Zito, Dick Lieb and others, and songs from the catalogues of Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Frank Sinatra and the Great American Songbook, this promises to be a swingin’ evening you won’t want to miss!
The Mahaiwe Theater in downtown Great Barrington, MA opened in September 1905 and is one of the oldest surviving theaters in the country. The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center was formed in December 2002. The theater has been newly restored, with great attention to historical detail. The Mahaiwe is now a unique year-round performing arts center presenting music, dance, theater, opera, and classic films in the southern Berkshires.
