Description
Spiritual direction is an opportunity to share one?s spiritual journey with a director or guide, who listens more than directs. The practice is to work together, non-judgmentally, to discern the sacred which may be embedded in both daily life or peak experiences. It differs from therapy in that it is not about solving, but about being with whatever arises. It is completely confidential unless the directee may potentially harm themselves or others. This practice can be particularly helpful for people who are hoping to recognize connections to something bigger in their lives, and to those who are trying to discern in what direction they are being called in work, family, or spiritual practice, or who are just curious about their inner lives. Open to people of any or no religious background.
Danielle Stillman is an ordained Rabbi and trained spiritual director.
