The Battleship Missouri Memorial offers two daily tours with much more to explore on your own. The main tour is included in your General Admission ticket and takes you to the exact spot where WWII ended and is fully ADA accessible. The second is called "The Heart of the Missouri" tour and takes you deep inside the inner workings of the ship including the engine rooms and gun turrets. This tour is not ADA accessible and is not open to children under 10.
For all our guests we recommend that you purchase bottled beverages to keep you hydrated during your visit. In addition we suggest wearing closed toed shoes and take care when moving through doorways and passageways with low ceilings. Safety briefings will be part of every visitors experience, thank you for your participation.
Mighty Mo Pass - General Admission
With your General Admission you are welcome to choose from four choices to explore the Battleship Missouri. Choose which one suits your interests, or you can do them all if you have the time.
- 35-minute Guided Tour: Take a tour of the ship with one of our knowledgeable tour guides. On the tour you will see and hear about the main historical points of the ship, including the Surrender Deck. Afterwards you are welcome to explore the ship on your own at your leisure.
- Acoustiguide Audio Tour: Explore the ship with one of our informational audio phones. With more than 100 stops above and below decks, you can spend 45 - 90 minutes learning about historical and technical aspects of the Missouri. Available in English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean.
- Guide2Go iPod Audio Tour: Take a 60 - 90 minute audio-visual tour throughout the ship using an iPod Touch and headset, which we provide. On the tour you will see and hear historical footage, crew member interviews and be guided above and below decks to see where the crew lived and worked. Available in English, Japanese, Chinese and Spanish.
- Explore On Your Own: If you like to adventure on your own, you're welcome to take a map once you come aboard and take advantage of informational signs around the ship at your own pace. Tour guides and staff will be around the ship and available to answer questions or point you in the right direction.
Are the tours guided or can you browse the ship?
Visitors have the opportunity to take part in one of the three guided tours or browse the ship though the Self-Guided Tour.
How long do the tours take?
We have four different standard tours:
- Mighty Mo Tour: The Mighty Mo Tour takes about 35 minutes
- Acoustiguide: The Acousti-guide tour takes up to 120 minutes
- iPod touch tour: The IPod touch tour can take from 60 to 90 minutes.
- Self-Guided Tour: Self-Guided Tours allow you to set your own pace and can take anywhere from 30 minutes to five hours. It's a really big ship!.
Can persons with disabilities board the ship?
The ship has two elevators on the aft Brow that can bring persons in wheel chairs or with mobility-impairments to the Main Deck. On that level, one can access the museum within the Wardroom,. On the Main Deck, there is an elevator that allows persons with disabilities to access the Surrender Deck. See the accessibility information.
