Since 2005, Center Farm has raised sheep and other animals on our organic pastures in historic East Montpelier Center, just five miles from the statehouse of Vermont. Through the most humane and healthy husbandry, our Border Leicesters, Karakuls and a range of crossbred sheep thrive on grass, creating a sustainable, regenerative cycle that builds soil and sequesters carbon. The sun fuels not only this cycle but also all our electric needs, as Catamount Solar, a worker-owned firm we founded, discretely nestled a large PV array on an equipment shed. (Ask us for a free quote and design ideas!) We are proud of our sustainable practices and are working hard to expand them. Currently we are adapting our haying and grazing to protect the many bobolinks and other groundnesters that return to our hilltop field year after year.

We sell delicious grassfed lamb, luxurious washable sheepskins and raw fleece, along with pastured poultry. Breeding and fiber sheep are always available. We occasionally raise a litter of English Shepherds, the best-ever all-around farm and family dog. And we offer pony lessons and farm camps -- perhaps expanding to include adults and day-visitors in our future programs. Email is the best way to reach us -- centerfarm@gmail.com, or call 802-223-6930. Follow us on instagram at centerfarmvt or on Erica?s facebook. A new website is in process.  Be in touch!
