Description
"For Those Who Saved Adams Woods." Poster from 1981. Adams Woods is a 104-acre property that is situated in both Lincoln and Concord. The Andromeda Ponds are the gem of this conservation area and were named by Henry David Thoreau. The property also has abundant forestlands and a meadow near Fairhaven Bay. Adams Woods was acquired by the Town in 1977 with substantial assistance from the State, the Adams family, and a fundraising effort. This poster features a wood engraving crafted by artist Michael McCurdy, as well as this Thoreau quote: "The thing that pleases me most within these three days is the discovery of the andromeda phenomenon. It makes all parts of the country where it grows more attractive and elysian to me. These little leaves are the stained windows in the cathedral of my world." Measures about 12.5 x 19 inches. One of 400 copies printed. A unique item.
