Naperville's outdoor history museum village tells the story of daily life in the city as it changed from a simple frontier outpost to a bustling turn-of-the-century community.
The paths of the 12-acre village, located in downtown Naperville, meander past more than 30 buildings, including an early log house and the Martin Mitchell Mansion (listed on the National Register of Historic Places). Children can climb on a Conestoga wagon, visit Fort Payne, drop in for a class in the one-room schoolhouse, and tour the working blacksmith and print shops.
