Stanley Cup Celebration: Local artist, Richard Svec (a Columbia Country Club member for five decades) has generously donated a print of his painting "Lord Stanley in DC" and it is accompanied by a great story! The Capitals were celebrating their 2018 win of the National Hockey League Championship. Members of the Capitals team circulated the city over several days, bringing the Cup with them, wherever their celebrations took them. Richard's son Michael (also a Columbia member) happened to be at the POV Rooftop Lounge at the W Hotel when the team came in with their prize. He snapped the photo and texted it to Richard and said "you have to paint this, Dad." With the Washington Monument in the background, "Lord Stanley in DC" represents a moment and a memory treasured by Caps Fans everywhere! Enjoy this framed print of the original 20" x 24" oil on canvas painting of that moment, measuring 20" x 24" in a silver wood frame, double-matted and signed by the artist.
