Big antique ni-ju-giri (two level) bamboo ikebana vase with black lacquer highlights Japan, a stunning old handcrafted and Classic T from the early Showa era vintage (1930) ni-ju-giri (two level)
Masterfully handcrafted and hand finished. It was made over 85 years ago from a large stock of timber bamboo. It has two separate areas for flower arrangements.
The cut areas of bamboo are covered with several coats of clear lacquer. It stands straight and level. It has been in storage for nearly a century, along with a nice aged patina, it remains in good condition. Don't let the stapled seems fool you- this is the authentic original. Hand-cut and hand-carved from a huge thick bamboo shoot.
It measures 29.5" tall by 6.5" wide
