Image description: Venus (Laurel Lawson) balances on the footplate of Andromeda’s (Alice Sheppard) wheelchair, arms speed wide and wheels spinning. Andromeda opens her arms wide to receive her in an embrace. They make eye contact and smile. A starry sky fills the backgrounds and moonlight glints off their rims. Photo: BRITT/ Jay Newman
With 2 sets of tickets to any performance on the Fall 2020 Tour of Kinetic Light's next production, DESCENT, the possibilities are endless. Previous year's tour dates included stops across California, New York, and Oregon.
Working in the disciplines of art, technology, design, and dance, Kinetic Light creates, performs, and teaches at the nexus of access, disability, dance, and race. Disability is not the deficit of diagnosis. In our work, intersectional disability is an aesthetic, a culture, and an essential element of our artistry. Access is a central part of the art and our creative process.
