Get a front row seat to a professional cooking class taught by one of our dynamic and entertaining chefs. Every class is distinct and personal. There?s not a bad seat in the house and our lush, outdoor patio garden with a beautifully mosaic tiled wood-fired oven is a wonderful place to relax, weather permitting.
The Wooden Spoon classes are a group cooking experience. You will leave with recipes and skills required to recreate the meal at home. Our goal is to share our cooking expertise in a fun and relaxed environment. We provide a fully equipped kitchen with all the supplies needed to create a great meal.
We practice the "Mise en Place" approach to cooking. Mise en place is a French phrase which means "putting in place." It is used in professional kitchens to organize and arrange ingredients. This practice is very effective in home kitchens, as well.
You'll learn how to read, prep and execute a recipe. The first 20 to 30 minutes participants prep ingredients for one or more recipes, then the chef leads the class through each recipe. The best way to learn how to cook is as a team, like in a professional kitchen. Bring a friend or make a new one while you?re here!
