Bidding on this item helps support African Wild Dogs from extinction in the wild. Much like cheetahs, African Wild Dogs are racing to beat extinction. Worldwide populations are estimated to be between 3,000 and 4.000 individuals. The biggest threats to African Wild Dogs internationally are lack of habitat, human-wildlife conflict and the reduction of genetic diversity due to isolated populations and persecution. The species has gone extinct in 23 countries. Namibia hosts no more than an estimated 250 of these elusive animals.

You can find more information on CCF and African Wild Dogs at www.cheetah.org under the "CCF Blog" tab.
