Description

This one-on-one mentoring session is an amazing opportunity for anyone interested in working in the entertainment industry! Don Roy King has directed more live network television than anyone in the history of the medium, including fourteen seasons of NBC?s Saturday Night Live. That work has earned him nine Primetime Emmys and thirteen nominations. He has also been nominated for fourteen DGA Awards and won in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and2019. Mr. King has won two other Emmys for his work ? one for directing The Mike Douglas Show; and one for heading the design team that revamped the graphic look of CBS News.

In addition, Mr. King is the creative director for Broadway Worldwide, a venture that brings theatrical events to theaters and international television. The company has produced four major productions, all directed by Mr. King: the 2010 Tony-winning musical, Memphis (which earned an Emmy for Technical Direction); Smokey Joe?s Café; the Stephen Sondheim revue, Putting It Together with Carol Burnett; and the musical, Jekyll & Hyde. In addition, he directed the screen version of Broadway?s Romeo and Juliet starring Orlando Bloom.
