You and up to 5 others will join Dr. Joe Keiper on a 4 hour field trip to the Shenandoah Valley, where you will explore the amazing diversity of the bird world. The trip targets October 2020 as the best opportunity to catch migrants, October 2021 (but Dr. Keiper is flexible). Bring binoculars and walking shoes, snacks and water, and dress for the weather. If appropriate, we’ll all meet and take one van to the beautiful habitats including forest, stream sides, and open fields.
ABOUT BIRDING: “It’s a challenge… But extremely fulfilling when you develop some technique and familiarity. It’s not just the identification, but it is also the witnessing of beauty and intriguing behavior, and visiting some gorgeous places. Birding teaches you to find beauty in the most unexpected of places…”
