From the artist:
I photographed this along Nixon Rd in State College about 150 yards before it intersects with Whitehall Rd. It was about 15 degrees out and I had just finished a cross country ski trip. I saw the sky was starting to look nice and went out into this field with my tripod and took a number of different shots where I tried to line up the leading lines of the corn rows with the sunset and also incorporate the ice texture of the snow. It seemed to all come together on this shot.
