Description
Pope Valley Winery, Pope Valley, CA.
Case 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
The Pope Valley Winery was founded in 1897 as a Winery & Olive Oil Factory. The Eakle family have owned the property, just northeast of Napa Valley since 1997, growing and making the finest Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé wines from estate grapes.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon yields the rich distinctive wine characteristics of the terroir. Pope Valley?s wines showcase the mineral complexity of the soils -Pleasanton loam and Bressa-Dibble complex. Pope Valley is a warm growing climate with cool evenings and mornings which allow the grapes to hang on the vine long enough to ripen to their fullest potential yet cool enough at night to develop complex varietal aromas.
The winning bidder will receive a case of Pope Valley 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has a first impression of red cherry supported by warm spice and vanilla, a middle-palate of rich blackberries, and it finishes with firm structure and balanced acidity. The wine was aged in French oak barrels for 26 months before bottling, and received 90 points from Balthazar Wine Review.
