Gather your friends together and join the Flynn?s artistic director, Steve MacQueen and his wife, Kim, for a summer celebration at their Burlington home.
Steve says:
"We love to cook, we love to have people over to eat what we've made, and we have a really nice kitchen, so why not? We?ve also got the grill and it's summer, so maybe some fire?we'll see. The real pleasure for me comes from talking to people, then building a menu that tells a story (you can take the boy out of the theater, but?). Kim has been a vegetarian for more than half of our 32-year marriage (she?s currently between bouts), so I?m totally at home in that realm, but I certainly have no disdain for giant slabs of meat cooked slowly over a fire. We're also cocktail enthusiasts who make mean versions of all the classics, and have created a couple of our own 'twists.'
I'm happy to talk about my job and the ins/outs of performing-arts programming at the Flynn and elsewhere. I've been fortunate enough to do some international travel so we can chat about Algeria, Chile and Japan. As the son of a meteorologist, even the weather has its charms. I'm not afraid to discuss/debate religion or politics either, but am happy to stay away if those topics cause problems. Also, as a former reporter, I like to listen as much as I like to talk, and I'd love to hear your story.
