Moreland?s Tavern is a neighborhood restaurant focused on hospitality and providing fresh, approachable food in a warm and welcoming environment. Owners Tony Kowaleski and Matt Croke both moved into the neighborhood in 2009, hoping Kennedy Street would turn into a vibrant strip.
Tony and Matt have worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years each and as their other restaurants flourished, they kept their eyes open in their own neighborhood. In late 2016, Matt discovered the property and didn?t have to twist Tony?s arm to join him.
Together they sought out a Chef and were very lucky to get Emily Baran on board. Emily is a DC native and has honed her culinary skills at a variety of Washington, DC area restaurants, including small independent restaurants and large corporate kitchens. She?s found a home in the Tavern now.
