Hot Tamale is a vintage and consignment shop? In the jungle ? which we think it pretty badass.
It all began years ago when shop owner Lily Walter wondered into Costa Rica with lost luggage wearing jeans, a sweater and boots. Needless to say, she needed to do some shopping. But with only a few hundred dollars to her name, she quickly came to learn that this would not be an easy task. On top of the limited selection (at the time), most boutiques were far above of her ?on-a-budget 20-something? price range. Beyond that, the looks seemed to be pretty specific... None that she was really into.
She didn?t want to ?fit in?, she didn?t want to pay a lot for her clothes, and she wanted to feel good about what she put on? she wanted to thrift. She wanted to pick through racks and bins and stacks of previously owned gems looking for the perfect ?just me? outfit to take home with her.
