Description
Visit Ebbwater Sea Farm and observe the typical daily activities of a working oyster farm, then cook up something from the sea for dinner with a $50 gift certificate to Nauset Fish & Lobster in Orleans.
At aquaculture site Ebbwater Sea Farm, owned by Diane and Dave Carlson, you?ll learn about the life cycle of an oyster, the challenges of dealing with competing marine organisms, the reason the green crab is an occasional predator and sometimes friend, and the process the Carlsons follow as they oysters grow from less than a quarter-inch to three-inch adults in three years? time.
The tour will last approximately one hour. Group size of up to ten can be accommodated. Ebbwater Sea Farm is accessed via Breakwater Beach in Brewster. Appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and activity is recommended.
Tour to be planned around low tide, at a time mutually convenient for the winning bidder and the Carlsons. Tour must be scheduled before October 2021.
If you?re too tired to make dinner, the Nauset Fish & Lobster gift certificate can also be used at their sister restaurant, Sir Cricket?s Fish & Chips.
