Artist Statement:
Making has always been central part of my life. The challenge has been sorting out how my illness both fuels and hinders my creative process. Being able to bring an idea or concept to fruition through making, once a given, now provides me hope that my brain is still capable of doing what it was always meant to be to do- create art and connect to the world through making. It's a unique relief to know this central feature of my identity has not changed but continued evolved through my lived experience with a mental health diagnosis.
