Description
The ultimate tribute to a much loved family member (not limited to cats and dogs -any animal is welcome!)
Approx. 9" x 12" (without frame)
The Process:
It starts with photos from which a drawing is created, and once approved by you, each piece of glass is handcut and placed on a white glass "backing." Ground glass, called "frit" may be added for shading and texture. The piece is then transferred to a kiln where it spends a day heating in timed intervals to 1400 degrees and then, in steps, cooling back down.
The piece is then custom framed in your choice of finishes.
The Glass Artist:
When Dave Rosenthal retired from teaching five years ago, he was able to pursue his other great love ? art. He chose glass as the medium because it allowed him to blend color, light and texture into his work. It also opened up a new avenue for him to support his and his wife?s lifelong passion ? animal rescue. 100% of all the proceeds from his glass commissions are donated to pet rescues to fund their lifesaving work.
Dave?s work is displayed in private collections, businesses and non-profit organizations both in the United States and internationally
