Description

"Lilly of the Eocene Valley? was created by Hugh Thompson III

This beautiful work of art is made of Italian Agata Alabaster (a stone that is no longer available) and is positioned on a black granite base. A plaque will be attached with the name of the sculpture and artist.
It measures 19 inches high X 14 inches wide X 14 inches deep (front to back)

The images include one of the artist and art while still in finishing process plus new photos of of the completed sculpture.

About the Artist:   Hugh C. Thompson III M.D.

Hugh Thompson retired from the hard tissue specialty of orthopaedics wanting to experience unexplored areas of life. Through a spirit directed procession, he first tried drawing, then watercolor painting, then clay figure sculpture. He is now back in one of the hard tissue areas of the artistic world - stone carving.

The CaCO4 found in our bodies has been Divinely organized into the complex organ we call bone. With this sculpture, the individual artist brings to life one of the infinite creative possibilities residing in each piece of stone.
