Description
Enjoy a half day activity and learn about the beautiful and historic Paepae o He?eia with executive director Hi?ilei Kawelo. Help remove predatory and invasive species from the fishpond by casting for fish such as barracuda, papio and toau. Participate in hoisting up crab traps to catch live samoan crab from the pond.
Complete the day with the crew and enjoy a crab boil and fish fry luncheon prepared by chef Kealoha Domingo of Nui Kealoha, including locally sourced ingredients from the Heʻeia ʻAhupuaʻa partners Papahana Kuaola and Kāko?o ?Ōiwi. Sip on a He?eia themed cocktail, and enjoy home-brewed beer crafted by Papahana Kuaola co-founders and owners of Hui Kū Maoli Ola Native Hawaiian plant nursery Rick Barboza and Kapailkū Schirman. Dine with all of the above as well as Hawaiʻi Food & Wine Festival CEO Denise Yamaguchi, for a fun filled and memorable meal.
